Shoreline Stability: What to be aware of

I recently came across a great website created by the Washington State Department of Ecology that gives consumer-friendly information and advice about Puget Sound shoreline stability. If you're building a home on the waterfront, you can find tips to ensure safe construction such as to "site your home as far back from the water as possible." For buyers there is advice for investigating a property's stability and hazard risk, including a "Buyer's Checklist."

You can check out this website here: http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/sea/pugetsound/index.html for more information regarding Puget Sound Shorelines. In addition to using the information on this website, it is a good idea to hire a qualified geologist for a more detailed evaluation of a property's stability.
